Indians Baseball

This year, we made the decision for Cooper to play Little League baseball instead of YMCA. He was drafted to the Indians team, which made Jason and I laugh a bit over some Major League jokes.

Each season at this park starts with an Opening Day Parade. The teams run onto the field and each member is introduced. The kids took it as a race to see who could run fastest.

We went right in to our first game of the season that ended with a win!

The rain in Houston created a bit of a rough start to the season. After just a few games at Bear Creek, Houston was hit with a terrible flood that caused the fields to sit under water for over 6 weeks. Thankfully, we were able to continue our season at alternate fields around Houston. We were also fortunate that a fellow team dad took some fantastic photos of the team. We love some of the action shots he was able to capture!

March Phone Photos

March started with a sick Caitlin. She spent a few days home with an upset stomach. After fighting her one afternoon to take a nap, I came through the living room to find her asleep watching TV.

Thankfully, once the nap was over she woke up feeling much better!

Cooper's school hosted field day and I had the chance to volunteer and watch him enjoy the activities.

We made our annual trip to the Houston Rodeo.

Cooper had many evening baseball practices, which meant Caitlin & I spent a lot of time together.

Caitlin started swimming lessons. Of course, the first day she stepped off of the bench and sunk. She also really loved her teacher, Coach Matt, and was sad to leave him for a new coach.

While out of town for Easter, Caitlin was supposed to be sleeping. Instead, she decided to raid my purse.

Basketball 2016

Last fall we began talking about the option for Cooper to play basketball after the holidays. We were gifted an old basketball goal from a friend and he spent many hours outside playing before the season started.

Fortunately, our church was the home to a basketball league making practices very easy to get to. We were also lucky enough to have a previous Sunday School teacher as our coach & Cooper was happy to be party of the Tigers.

The kids played three six-minute periods, followed by half time, and three more six-minute periods. This gave each kid a great opportunity to play, and get a good break when needed.

Cooper was easily the tallest kid on his team...and most other teams!

This was Cooper's response when he scored a goal. And when anyone else on his team scored a goal.

Cooper had a great time playing basketball and has already said he wants to do it again next year, when he is in First Grade. Caitlin loved watching the cheerleaders most, but when asked if she wanted to be a cheerleader or play basketball, she said basketball like Bubby.

Aggie Football

We had the opportunity this year to take Cooper to two Aggie games and take Caitlin to her first game.

The kids really enjoyed the halftime show.

Somewhere on the way down from our seats, Caitlin caught her second wind. She was so wired!

I'm so glad we were able to do this!

More Soccer Games

Cooper played his last few soccer games in November, wrapping up the season the first weekend in December. The kids played well most games & once we had a double header to make up for bad weather.

Cooper had a few spectators during his games.

And he scored a few goals.

During our double header, we won the first game & Cooper scored 3 goals. Sadly, we lost the second game.

The kids love running through the tunnel after the games.

Our last game was held in December. I missed the game due to a 5K, and our coach decided not to show up either. Jason & another dad coached the kids and we closed out the season with a trophy.
