May Phone Photos

May felt as if it flew by with the approach of summer, make up baseball games and the end of school.

Cooper started baseball with the impression that being the catcher would be fun. He had the opportunity a few times throughout the season. This was his first chance.

The kids were happy to celebrate May the Fourth.

Uncle Tex (and family) sent Caitlin her won baseball glove for her birthday.

Jason finally put "our" sign in the yard. Lindsey called me one day saying she had seen that on the side of the road near her house. We laughed, but sort of agreed that if it was still there a few days later, she would pick it up. Since the conversation started on a Monday, we figured it was after the wedding and the sign went home with her.

Caitlin continued swim and I caught her once in trouble.

Cooper got three hits in one game and ended it with a snocone. Both kids had to show off their blue tongues.

Caitlin's Mother's Day gift from daycare is probably my favorite thing they've done.

These two (and their dad) gave me a great Mother's Day.

We finally had a sunny, dry afternoon to visit the park.

Cooper begged me to take a photos of his Lego creation & send it to Lego magazine. I still haven't done one of those things.

I visited Cooper's teacher for an end of the year conference. She shared with me Cooper's photo on the wall. He came home one day telling us that his photo was going to be on the wall by the nurses office. Jason & I joked that it was because he visited the nurse so often. Turns out, his teacher suggested to the counselor his photo be added for the month of May. Each child was asked what they wanted to be when they grew up, and Cooper has been insistent that he would be a paleontologist.

Caitlin was invited to join her friend Quinn at gymnastics one evening. She loved it, but getting there is really tough! Traffic in Houston is always an adventure.

Instead of Kindergarten Graduation, our school hosts a Writing Celebration. The kids sing a few songs, and then spend time showing their family the writing they've worked so hard on.

Cooper had such a great year with these friends!

Sometime over the summer, Caitlin started to prefer dresses over pants. Before that happened, I could only convince her to willingly wear a dress if is had a character she liked. The Sofia dress she got for her birthday was a clear winner.

April Phone Photos

April brought in the start of baseball season.

And the chance to celebrate Rachel's birthday. I asked Cooper to get a bag for her gift and he took it upon himself to write a birthday message.

Jason was out of town and after an afternoon of outlet mall shopping (my own person circle of misery), I treated the kids to dinner and sandbox time.

Cooper's school carnival was an afternoon of fun & time to see friends. Caitlin loved the big slide! And getting her face painted.

Cooper had a blast pretending to be an American Ninja Warrior.

We helped Aly celebrate her birthday, where all of the girls had a blast playing dress up.

Caitlin was also invited to a party for a school friend that included dress up time and dancing.

Nana & Aunt Carla took the kids to Disney on Ice. Cooper said he thought it would be more fun & Caitlin fell asleep halfway through and ended up peeing on Nana. So, I guess they had fun.

We rounded out April by celebrating Caitlin's birthday. The girls played dress up again and my little one ended up wearing a Batman costume.

March Phone Photos

March started with a sick Caitlin. She spent a few days home with an upset stomach. After fighting her one afternoon to take a nap, I came through the living room to find her asleep watching TV.

Thankfully, once the nap was over she woke up feeling much better!

Cooper's school hosted field day and I had the chance to volunteer and watch him enjoy the activities.

We made our annual trip to the Houston Rodeo.

Cooper had many evening baseball practices, which meant Caitlin & I spent a lot of time together.
Caitlin started swimming lessons. Of course, the first day she stepped off of the bench and sunk. She also really loved her teacher, Coach Matt, and was sad to leave him for a new coach.

While out of town for Easter, Caitlin was supposed to be sleeping. Instead, she decided to raid my purse.
Happy Easter!

February Phone Photos

February was filled with basketball, birthdays and tea parties. And a bit of rodeo. Caitlin made sure she was ready.

Movie night is always a big hit.

Caitlin humored me for her Valentine's Day party.

Jason's birthday started with donuts...

After Cooper's game, we spent the afternoon at St. Arnold's.

We finished the night with cake, picked by Cooper himself.
I had President's Day off, and decided to brave the zoo with the kids.

As treat, I even let them ride the carousel.

Some days I can't believe these two have known each other their entire lives.

Cooper had to write a story at school about something he likes:
and doesn't like:

He also had to draw and write some of his favorite things.
We had one last basketball game to wrap up February.

Caitlin went to Ariel's house for tea and cookies.

Caitlin is fascinated with my makeup, so I took the opportunity to make her own with old compacts and nail polish. She was thrilled.

She also loves to call people on my work phone.

The end of February always brings the Houston Rodeo to town and has everyone dressed up for Go Texan Day. Cooper did not want to participate.

Aunt Rosie made Caitlin's baby a new blanket and pillows. She had to use them right away.
