Cooper is closer to 5 than 4 and it shows. Some days, he is completely grown up. He is so helpful with his sister, though it can border on smothering. I depend on him to help out around the house and give him a lot of responsibility. Some days, that can be dangerous.
Recently, we started letting Cooper watch the Avengers cartoons on Disney XD. He thinks he is totally a big kid. It seems the days of non-stop Mickey Mouse are over. At least until Caitlin starts to care about what it on.
Lately, Cooper loves sweet potatoes. Or, orange potatoes. We had them one night for dinner and he ate half of mine. Since then, that's one of his favorite side dishes. He's also developed a love for cinnamon. Also known as cimmanon.
Cooper is still not really big on doing his chores, but he likes spending his money. Right now he is trying to work for enough money to go to the movies and see Planes. I told him to earn $5 by doing chores and we would find time to go to the movies.
I'm also trying hard to work with him on his sight words. I'll admit, doing this reminds me why it is a good thing I'm not a teacher. I run out of patience. Quickly. I can see the school years being rough around here. BUT he enjoys getting the words right and is working harder.
Caitlin talks non-stop, but never says much of anything. She communicates mostly by pointing and screaming at something. She's recently started to nod and shake her head. She will say something like May-may when she wants her Baby. And she is really picky about only liking her Baby Lovey. I plan on ordering 2 backups online this week, as Baby took two trips to the washing machine just last week.
She is spoiled. Cooper seems to cater to her quite a bit, so I'm telling myself that's why she's so spoiled. It's probably a big lie. She loves chasing him & playing with his toys. Her top picks are the Spider-man jeep and a large Dodge truck that makes noise. I think she'd prefer those over her princesses most days.
Her favorite foods are bread and most fruit. She's still not big on bananas, but freaks out if she sees any berry, grape or cherry in my hands. Most cheese goes over well, and I can count on her to eat her vegetables. More than Cooper does!
We've been off & on antibiotics for the past 6 weeks. She started back in June with a trip in for an ear infection and spent the week at home with Jason & I trading off due to a really high fever. I took her back in that Friday for another antibiotic. Since then, we've sampled 3 more antibiotics, only to have the infection go away and come back a week later. Really, I think it never heals.
We saw an ENT last week & set Caitlin up to get tubes. She has quite a bit of fluid in her ears and hears as if she's wearing ear plugs. Not surprising at all. Thankfully, we are seeing the same ENT who did Cooper's tubes - we really liked him. Cross your fingers that she gets moved up on the list for an earlier surgery time - right now we're set for a month away and I'd love to do it this week!
We still only have 2 teeth, but I know more are coming soon. I'm afraid she'll end up getting 4 at one time, and be miserable. She's a good 22 lbs. Most of her clothes are 12 month size, though the PJs are getting snug and some things are a bit tight across the belly.
