I can't pick one for today. And since it is the last day, I won't.
Cooper's new thing - ending sentences with "ok? ok." Like "I'm gonna go mow the lawn, ok? Ok."
(no, we don't make him mow the lawn)
Going to church. Cooper sat in the sanctuary with us and did pretty well. He clapped a few times after songs, and asked for Baby Jesus, but for the most part, he was good.
Getting several things on my list accomplished!!

Joy Day 38
(Friday)
Taking Cooper for a train ride. Even if he wasn't as excited when he realized how dark the train ride was.

Joy Day 37
Thanksgiving. A time to recognize everything we are thankful for. Family & friends...jobs that keep us fed and a roof over our heads...time to keep busy and relax when needed...and a little boy who fills in the rest.

Joy Day 30
Time on the treadmill before a quiet evening alone in the hotel. Complete with room service!
Trick or Treat!
Just a few weeks late, but better late than never - right?
We headed over to Sarah & Jacob's house, where we were joined by Reagan & Abby. After a quick dinner of pizza, where we may or may not have bribed some kids, we dressed up and got ready to head out.

Best friends!
We hitched up the covered wagon, and headed out.
We all had a great time and headed home before it got too late. Can't wait till next year!

Joy Day 22
An evening without whining. Well, without much of it. And it was based on the promise of an after-dinner sucker, but I'll take it!
23 Months Old
Somehow...someway...in one month Cooper will be two. Two is different. Two is running, and jumping, and potty training, and tantrums, and talking. Nothing baby about that stuff.
I've been working on planning Cooper's birthday party for a few weeks. I'm Type A, ok? And while I'm excited, I'm a little confused at how he's already almost two.
We are getting a lot of talking these days and full sentences. I'm not sure when it happened, but recently he's started saying things that amaze me and make me laugh at the same time. He also started counting a few weeks ago. The numbers are not always in the right order and some may be missing, but for not-quite-two I'm happy! On a whim, I asked if he could count in Spanish. He responded by saying "uno...dos...tes."
Somewhere in the past few weeks he's developed a new love for Winnie the Pooh. This makes me so happy. Pooh was always one of my favorite characters and I loved the original movie. I even have the DVD, although Cooper was never interested in it. With the release of the new movie last week on DVD, Winnie the Pooh has been all over the paper and tv. I landed a copy of the new movie and we sat down to watch it last week. He wasn't as captivated as he is by McQueen, but I'm happy to share my love of the little fat bear. And I found a tiny Pooh Bear that my aunt gave Cooper the day he was born. Somehow, it found its way into Cooper's bed.
Last week he started moving up to the Two's Room at school. I've been ready for him to move up - hoping that it challenges him and he has bigger kids to play with. He's apparently been a little rough with some of the babies in his class - not on purpose, but because he just doesn't realize he's bigger. The first day was great, but the second day his old class walked through the room to go out to the playground and he realized something was very wrong. (Design flaw?) Since then, he's been getting better but we're still not thrilled about going in the morning. He cries when I drop him off, but it doesn't last too long. I have reminded myself that the transition to the old room, it took almost two months before he was ok when I dropped him off.
The last week has been a bit trying, though. We stayed up later for Halloween, I needed to be out of the house early every day - meaning that Cooper had to get up early, and he moved rooms. Needless to say, by Friday I wasn't quite sure we were both going to survive the trip to school. He refuses to get out of bed, he refuses to get dressed and don't even try to ask about getting into the carseat. This week has been a little better, and I'm crossing my fingers.
We're really working on the attitude that seemed to come barreling in lately. He picked up "NO!" somewhere and isn't afraid to use it. We're working on getting him to add Sir/Ma'am/Thank You to the end. Although I know from childhood experience that it may take a long time. :-) I've also tried to work on the tantrum throwing by telling him that he can throw them in his room, but not in the rest of the house. Still a work in progress, though! I have also said "be nice" about one million times because when I'm fussing at him, he turns around, points his finger at me and quickly replies "be nice, momma." Oh...the attitude.
I am loving this age, though. Even if it tests me daily. He's showing his independence and determination, but he still can be a sweet boy.

Fall = Football!
Cooper still loves baseball. He constantly asks to watch baseball on tv, and loves playing with the t-ball set outside. But since football season is in full force, we decided to buy him a football to play with. He can say foot and he can say ball, but for some reason football always comes out sounding like butt-ball. The weather has finally been great and we've spent some time outside playing.
First, we had to mow the lawn.
but we had to stop for a popsicle break
First, we had to mow the lawn.
and fix the lawnmower...
then we had a kicking lesson.
and finally we had to make sure the cheerleader was ready for the big game.
Zoo Boo!
As soon as we signed up for our Houston Zoo membership, I knew I wanted to take Cooper to the Zoo Boo. Earlier last month we headed to the Zoo with Cooper's buddies - Reagan & Abby and Sarah & Jacob.
The kids all checked out the usual favorite animals and played some of the Zoo Boo games.
We stopped by the Pumpkin Patch to check it out and try to get a group photo.
We made our way to the the Gorilla Enclosure where one actually decided to get up close and person with Cooper & Abby. Cindy and I were helping them stand against the glass and suddenly, one gorilla walked over and sat down directly in front of them. I really thought Cooper would freak out, but he just stood there looking back.
We made a few final attempts at a group photo before heading home.

Joy Day 19
That extra hour of sleep I so desperately needed. Even if it meant kids across the world woke their parents up early. Bonus: Jason getting up with Cooper when he woke up at 6:30...obviously confused.
Joy Day 18
(Saturday)
My first shopping trip to Canton! Exhausting, but I found some things I liked and can't wait to go back.

(Friday)
Pouring a glass of wine and watching my second favorite television show (Bones) in bed. So glad it is back!

Joy Day 16
A last minute trip to the grocery store with Cooper for Christmas Cookie ice cream. Even if he did request french fry ice cream.

22 Months Old
Wow...much more than "a day late" with this post. I'm going through my edits and realized I never published this. This was written the week he hit 22 months, October 12.
I've been sort of dreading the fall for the past few months. I knew that when October rolled around, we'd be busy. And busy seems like an understatement. From now until New Years we're either out of town, or have things planned in town. Part of me wants to fake an injury so that we can all sit around and watch television all day. But who am I kidding? Unless it is dark and stormy, and my house is already clean from top to bottom, I will have nothing to do with sitting around! Plus, I'm looking forward to everything we have coming up! Zoo Boo, Pumpkin Patch, shopping with family, trips out of town with friends, Cooper's party, the holidays. I just hope we all survive it!

This past weekend was no exception. I went to Austin for my annual girls trip and Jason and Cooper headed north. Jason was going fishing with his dad and a friend and Cooper was going to stay with Jason's mom and brother. He did great and apparently had a lot of fun. But Sunday I was ready to see him! My 22 month old boy.
Cooper is talking up a storm. He repeats almost everything and comes up with sentences that crack me up. Last week he went with my mom to Jason's Deli. After his first bite of his pizza he looked at her and said "This is a pretty good piece of pizza." On the way to and from school we usually pass a few parked 18 Wheeler Trucks. Cooper asked 15,000 times on the way home last night "Big truck...where are you?"
Joy Day 14
Seeing that my big boy spent the entire day in the 2's Room at school. He looks so young in that room!
