17 Weeks Old

I'm ready for this current growth spurt to end. Mostly because I want to sleep all night again, but I'm trying not to complain too much about that. She does only get up once, eats fairly quickly and let's be honest - that's the only time I have each night to read. On the flip side, if she slept more I might be able to stay awake later and read then.

As a result of this current growth spurt, she's out of the 3 month pajamas. Most of the rest of her current size fits, but I don't think that will last long. She's really shot up in length and some onesies are getting a little snug.

We also officially have a roller. Last Thursday she was getting to her side but couldn't get any further than that. I just KNEW she would go all the way over the weekend. We were taking Cooper to the Cowboys football game and Caitlin was having her first night away from us with Aunt Sassy. I had every intention of telling my sister to keep her rolling a secret, but forgot.

Sure enough, Lindsey called me as we were walking to the stadium to tell me Caitlin had rolled from back to belly. She missed it, but looked over to find her on her belly and was pretty sure Libbie didn't help her get there. Later that evening we got a video of her showing off again.

Since then, she's pretty quick to flip over to her belly, get mad about it and scream until we flip her back. Rinse & repeat. She's not quite figured out how to flip herself back over, but I'm sure that's coming.

We tried to get a picture of her rolling over, but she was too worried about looking for her big brother.

16 Weeks Old

I'd love to say Cooper picked out this outfit, but I'd be lying. I'll also add that it looked a whole lot less loud and crazy in person.

Though, really, it could have just been sleep deprivation.

She is constantly cracking up at her big brother.

15 Weeks Old

This has been one of my favorite outfits from Adalynn. I love Caitlin in red - I've said before how I think it is her color. I'm so sad that she's almost outgrown this romper - especially before she could fit into the matching shoes!!

This grin...it kills me.

Not our typical trip to the zoo

Jason's coworker has a boy just a year older than Cooper. They've seen each other a few times, but not often enough. Since it had been quite some time between visits, we planned an early morning zoo trip for the kids to visit and play. Also, I'm pretty sure it was partially planned so that someone could see and hold a new baby.

Being the first weekend of August, it was H.O.T. at the zoo. Within minutes, Cooper was red faced and sweaty!
The boys own and wore matching shirts that day.
Caitlin was just along for the ride. She hung out in her stroller until the restaurants opened and I could feed her in the air conditioning.
We very quickly made our usual route and headed over to the new splash pad. The kids were changed and ready to go when it opened at 10am.
After spending about an hour there, we headed to the carousel. Cooper's never been able to ride it before because we're usually on our way out by the time we pass it. He also thinks it is always booked for private parties. :-)

We finished up by taking the boys to feed the giraffe. Jason and I both were pretty sure Cooper would not do it. He has no issue getting very close to a horse, but we were certain the giraffe would not be welcome.

We were right. Not only did Cooper try to crawl over Jason, he tried to crawl through his skin.
And we are awesome because we laughed. The good news, I don't have to worry about having extra cash on hand for future trips to the zoo so he can feed them again.

Play Ball!

We had one weekend home in July that I blocked out for a trip to see the Astros play. Aunt Carla bought Cooper & Caitlin their Buddies Club memberships & I wanted Cooper to have the chance to wear his new Astros jersey from his baby sister.

We grabbed lunch at home, packed some snacks (thanks, Astros) and headed out. Surprisingly, it was a crowded game that day. One of the local hospitals had given tickets to their employees and they must have had the same idea about escaping the heat!

We watched most of the game before taking Cooper to play in the kids area for few minutes. They have a huge playscape that he was dying to climb. Unfortunately, it was way too crowded for my comfort and we talked him into the batting cage instead. Don't worry, it's a virtual cage!

When we left, Cooper begged to sit on the baseball. He's a fan of those and the red concrete balls in front of Target. We obliged and used the opportunity for a photo.

14 Weeks Old

It drives me crazy how far behind I get with these posts, but I just don't see it changing. Sigh.

Also, last week we were 3 days late taking her photo. Ack! We usually aim for Tuesday evening, however Friday morning I managed to snap a few before school. It worked, since I wanted to catch photos of her in this outfit.

This is her "what?" face.

Or maybe one day it will be her "Cooper, you are in SO much trouble" face.

I cannot get over how much she talks these days. Non stop. Usually in the car on the way to daycare, if she doesn't fall asleep she talks the entire way.

Phone Friday

It's been a while since I've done this. Friday seems to fly by each week and I find myself too busy to try over the weekend.

In an effort to do more things with just Cooper, we hit up the library a few weeks ago. His own books have been very neglected as we've only read library books. Also, it is one of my favorite things every to hear Cooper try to "read" the books himself.

We finally made it to our first Astros game of the season. Cooper was so excited to wear the jersey Caitlin gave him.

Caitlin was thrilled, as you can tell.

Her Astros outfit was on loan from Eileen. I had to share a picture to say thanks.

Jason & I realized a few weeks ago that Cooper went from being almost too big for his big to way too big. After quite a bit of searching online, we found a new one at Academy.

These smiles kill me.

I love her in purple. And red. Those are her colors for sure.

When we visited Granna & Papa last month, we met some of their friends from church for dinner. I could not wait for her to wear this dress and thought she looked so sweet.

Cooper loves giving her hugs. Sometimes she likes getting them...but not always.

 My little Aggie!

This girl is 3 months old!

We met some friends at the zoo last weekend. The kids took a break from the heat by playing in the splash pad. Cooper also got to ride the carousel for the first time.

Sorry this picture is so large, but if you look closely you can see Jason and Cooper. Cooper got the chance to also feed the giraffe for the first time and freaked out. He tried to climb through Jason's skin to get away.

Nana & Pops came in for a visit and brought the water slide for Cooper to play with.

We finally pulled the Bumbo down from the attic. I think Caitlin will get more use out of it than Cooper ever did! Her thighs are a bit smaller.

We braved the heat yesterday to play outside for just a bit. Caitlin was asleep in no time enjoying the warm breeze. She just loves to be outside.

Cooper won a round of musical chairs. This was the prize he picked from the treasure box. Awesome doesn't even begin to describe this toy.
