Astros Baseball - Game 3

Due to the crazy rain in April, we moved two of our games to evenings in May. Our opponents for Game 3 were the Mariners.

The kids started by warming up:

Caitlin & Evan shared snack mix.

We took the field first & Cooper played 3rd.

Cooper finally hit two pitches this game! We were so excited - the first hit surprised him and we had to yell to remind him to run.

Our spectators started playing a game of their own.

Since there were no games after ours, we were able to play 3 innings. The third inning was easily our best!

Happy Birthday, Caitlin!

For a long time, Caitlin hasn't had much of a preference for anything outside of her Cooper. Which made deciding on her birthday theme a bit difficult. A few months prior to her birthday, she finally started to show interest in dogs, Mickey Mouse and Elsa. I figured Minnie Mouse would be an easy party theme and decided to roll with it.

With help from my Handy Helpers, we made our own invitations. Which I just loved!

We went pretty simple with the food & kept with the Minnie Mouse theme. We served Minnie Chocolate Chip Cookies:

A big thanks to Nana for making the Minnie Mouse cookies. They were so cute!

We've Got Ears Cupcakes - I did a mix of regular size and mini cupcakes, which were a hit with the kids.

The rest of the menu was Hot Diggity Dogs, Goofy's Corny Corn Dip, Donald's Cheeseball & Quackers, Daisy's Garden Spinach Dip, Clubhouse Fruit Salad and Daisy's Goldfish for the kids.

I happened to find some solid red and red & white polka dot plates and napkins at Hobby Lobby and a package of balloons on Amazon. It really made all of the party prep easy!

The birthday girl borrowed Eileen's old Minnie Mouse dress. And got to start the day with a juice box - a big treat for her!

The kids played on the swing set until we decided to turn on the water slide. It was a bit chilly, so most of the kids quit early.

Caitlin wasn't quite sure her first trip down the slide, but it didn't take her long to figure out that she was a big fan.

She also was one of the last ones out of the water. Her poor little lips were blue and I practically had to drag her out. I can see this slide getting a lot of use when it finally heats up here.

We cleaned everyone up and sat down for hot dogs & cupcakes.

As usual, we have no good photos of the 4 of us. But - we were all there! Cooper wanted so much to make sure Caitlin was enjoying her Happy Birthday song. He wouldn't give her any space!!

Caitlin couldn't quite decide if she liked the attention. But she was ready for her cuh-cake.

This little stinker loves the attention, as long as she can escape when she's ready.

I see this face way too often.

But she can be cute!

The kids spent the rest of the afternoon playing with their friends & indulging.I think some of the kids (cough...Eileen...cough) had several cookies. Talk about a sugar crash!

I still can't believe this feisty girl is two! We had a great party & loved spending the day with family and friends.

Astros Baseball - Game 2

April was a really rainy month for us. Talk about April showers! We ended up having two games rained out (rescheduling those was hard!) and finally had the chance to play our second game 3 weeks after the first one. Coach Kyle was out of town, so Coach West came in to help out.

Our second opponents were the NY Yankees.

Because that was also the same day as Caitlin's birthday party, we had quite the crowd.

Cooper played the position of pitcher during this game. Or, as he still says, patcher.

Jason had his first experience pitching to the kids, which he said is harder than it looks. Especially when you consider these kids have a pretty small strike zone.

The kids played really well this week!
