I was so glad that we were able to get together with friends again this year to decorate cookies. Both Caitlin & Cooper really enjoyed it!
Such concentration!
You might notice that Caitlin seemed to eat more frosting than she used.
Caitlin was most interested in eating the frosting and sprinkles, just not the cookies.

Trick or Treat! Halloween 2014
Halloween fell on a Friday this year, which meant we could stay out a bit later than in the past. Nana came in Thursday evening and took both kids to school Friday.
The kids all had a costume parade and then sat down for their Halloween parties.
That evening, we went to Reagan, Abby & Quinn's house to Trick or Treat. Sarah & Jacob joined us and after forcing the kids to eat dinner, we headed out.
Caitlin wanted to be like the big kids & loved running to every door. Even if she had no idea what she was there for!
Cooper was pretty pumped about all of the candy, but he really loved the glow necklaces & bracelets swords.
The kids managed to stay out for quite a while, stopping back by the house for one potty break. Quinn was not a fan of the adults in costume at the door...
But my strange child would just laugh at anything scary. She especially loved the headless bride outside of one door that laughed at the kids. Some days I really wonder about her.
We finally wrapped it up & headed back to the house where the kids decided to sort through their candy and beg for more than one piece.

Fall Festivals - 2014
We usually make a trip to the Houston Zoo in October to attend Zoo Boo. It's a bit crazy & crowded, but Cooper started mentioning it well before October rolled around. The weekends, though, were just a bit too crazy to make it work. Instead, we opted to attend a few fall festival activities with friends.
First up, the Boo Bash with Reagan Elsa, Abby Anna & Quinn Olaf. We walked to Reagan & Abby's elementary & spent the evening playing games.
Caitlin spent most of the evening trying to run away.
The last game of the evening was the three legged race. Jason raced with Cooper and I think they had the most fun with that game!
That Sunday, we also went to the Trunk or Treat with Eileen Sophia & Evan. Caitlin was mostly interested in eating chips.
We closed out the evening by teaching the kids a valuable lesson. They were very interested in checking out the police car, so we told them this would be the only time they'd ever be this close to a cop car!

Phone Photos - Aug & Sept
I realized that I missed a few photos from September.
Football season started and both kids went to school in their Aggie Game Day attire. Whoop!
Amazon delivered a big box one day for Cooper & Caitlin. Cooper was thrilled to open the box and find a stuffed Darth Vader from Rachel!
Caitlin's toy actually came the next day - she got an Elephant Ball Popper that cracks her up.
Cooper has spent the night with Eileen a few times, but we had not been able to find a night for Eileen to visit us. Due to some bad weather, a beach trip was cancelled & Kelly asked if she could come over that night instead. We were free, so we were happy to agree!
Eileen thought this hat was pretty funny.

Caitlin has quite a few toys, but seems to love playing with the Batcave most of all. She's also a shoe fanatic and brings them to me to put on.
One day at school, Cooper threw a toy and accidentally hit his buddy Karson in the head. Karson ended up needing some glue from the doctor and Cooper felt really bad. His teachers were very clear that it was an accident, but he was terribly upset. I felt really bad for him, so I picked him up & took him to get an ice cream & go to the park. This photo made it totally worth my time.
Caitlin is a stellar fit thrower. She loves to scream and slowly lower herself onto the floor to continue throwing her fit. This time she misjudged the distance from the trashcan and hit it.
Cooper is WAY too big for his Gator, but won't admit it. Caitlin caught him driving it and threw a fit insisting she get in. Once she was in, she would not get out. Nana had to pull her out screaming.
Cooper requested to go to an Astros game one more time before the season ended. Pops took us one night after work & we managed to see Altuve beat Biggio's single season hit record.
Cooper and I watched cartoons one morning while Caitlin slept in. It rarely happens that I let him turn the tv on, so he was pretty pumped.

Not our typical trip to the zoo
Jason's coworker has a boy just a year older than Cooper. They've seen each other a few times, but not often enough. Since it had been quite some time between visits, we planned an early morning zoo trip for the kids to visit and play. Also, I'm pretty sure it was partially planned so that someone could see and hold a new baby.
Being the first weekend of August, it was H.O.T. at the zoo. Within minutes, Cooper was red faced and sweaty!
The boys own and wore matching shirts that day.
Caitlin was just along for the ride. She hung out in her stroller until the restaurants opened and I could feed her in the air conditioning.
We very quickly made our usual route and headed over to the new splash pad. The kids were changed and ready to go when it opened at 10am.
After spending about an hour there, we headed to the carousel. Cooper's never been able to ride it before because we're usually on our way out by the time we pass it. He also thinks it is always booked for private parties. :-)

We finished up by taking the boys to feed the giraffe. Jason and I both were pretty sure Cooper would not do it. He has no issue getting very close to a horse, but we were certain the giraffe would not be welcome.
We were right. Not only did Cooper try to crawl over Jason, he tried to crawl through his skin.
And we are awesome because we laughed. The good news, I don't have to worry about having extra cash on hand for future trips to the zoo so he can feed them again.
