Aggie Football

We had the opportunity this year to take Cooper to two Aggie games and take Caitlin to her first game.

We started off tailgating:

And finally made it to our seats.

The kids really enjoyed the halftime show.

Somewhere on the way down from our seats, Caitlin caught her second wind. She was so wired!

I'm so glad we were able to do this!

Cooper's First Day of School

August could be defined by one thing: waiting for the first day of school. Cooper was beyond excited to start Kindergarten and we were happy to get a break on daycare expenses.

We tried not to embarrass Cooper in his classroom, but did manage to get one photo before being sent out the door.

Cooper was able to ride the bus home that day and was sure to let me know that it was "the best day ever" when he saw me.

After over a month of Kindergarten, I am happy to say he still loves it. His teacher is great and he's made many new friends.

Caitlin's First Haircut

Early last month we decided Caitlin needed a haircut. She refuses to keep bows or clips in her hair and was constantly getting food and snot in her bangs. I knew we would be visiting my mom & I booked a time slot with Aunt LaDonna for her first haircut.

We really only did just a little trim on the bangs.

It is really nice to not have to worry about her waking up with snot in her hair or coming home with lunch saved for later.

Happy Easter 2014!

Easter started early with sunrise service, and Cooper was very excited to check out what the Easter Bunny had brought. He was thrilled about the sand toys and cannot wait for our beach trip...in August.

We headed to church and had breakfast after. Cooper is usually a big pancake eater, but he was too excited about hunting Easter eggs to eat.

Cooper picked up a few eggs and then wanted to go play. After church, I convinced both kids to pose for a few pictures.

Once that was done, we headed to the back to see what the Easter Bunny had hidden. Cooper wanted to check it out before church, but it was still dark. Thankfully, he was patient enough to wait for sunlight.

After a nap, we headed over to spend the afternoon with family.

We gathered all of the kids for a photo while the Easter Eggs were being hidden - and then we turned them loose!

Cooper ran from one end of the yard to another.

Once the eggs were all gathered, we grabbed a late lunch before heading back to Houston.

Cooper's First T-Ball Game

Go Diamondbacks!! I won't lie, I was a little disappointed that THIS was the team we were assigned. Snakes? Really? But it was equally disappointing for Kelly & Kyle, as they had to dress Eileen in maroon - a color I'm sure they thought their daughter would never wear.

That said, Cooper is thrilled to be a part of the Arizona Diamondback organization this year. We had our first game earlier this month, and I'm not sure who was more excited - Jason or Cooper.

The kids arrived a bit early to warm up & have a team meeting. They also ran around chasing each other and watching planes fly overhead.

Our team batted first this game. I really like the YMCA for this age since every kid had the chance to bat.

Cooper played 3rd base for his first game. Watching our team on the field was hilarious. Every kid would run toward the ball, no matter where it went. I told Kelly that it was like watching an Easter Egg Hunt.

The kids all had a great time playing & we learned a lot about how to be more organized at the next game. Cooper has talked non-stop about his next game and how he'll play on the other side of the field. Hopefully 1st base sees a bit more action than 3rd. :-)

T-Ball Season

Sometime in December, Cooper got the idea that he'd be playing baseball once he turned 4. We decided to join a team through the YMCA with Eileen. The team was set up to be mostly local to our neighborhoods and we've been able to hold practice closer to the house.

The first few weeks were rough - we had swim at 5, rushed home for a quick, hearty snack and then headed to the field for practice from 6:30-7:15. Then, we rush home, grab dinner and baths before a really late bedtime. Whew.

Eileen's dad is our Coach and Jason was asked to be the assistant coach. We've got a team of 11 kids with 3 girls who are a bit outnumbered, but seem to be feisty!

The kids really seemed to enjoy practice and over the past few weeks I think they've all learned something!

Caitlin & Evan were strapped in their stroller and not happy about it.

The kids seem to mostly like running the bases. We'll see how well that pans out at the game Saturday.
