Cooper & Pony

Last month, Lindsey decided to enter Cooper in a little lead-line rodeo. It happened to coincide with a day I was out of town for work. Jason headed up to the rodeo after work, but due to traffic, missed out on the performance.

Thankfully, Nana was there to snap some photos as Cooper rode Pony through the events.

Cooper had a great time!

At the end of the events, Cooper got a medal & a ribbon for each event.

Next time, we'll all make sure we leave earlier! Cooper was very proud of his medal & ribbons and can't wait to run faster next time.

51 Weeks Old

This week was spent trying to get ready for Caitlin's first birthday party. Most nights were busy and we, again, ended up moving picture day to Wednesday. Caitlin still doesn't like the whole lying down & being still part.

We've finally had some warmer weather and have been able to break out the "warm jammies."  Cooper confuses this & thinks warm jammies are for warm nights and cold jammies are for winter nights.

Libie was spending the night...and stayed for a few days. Caitlin wasn't so sure about her to begin with, but is now a big fan. Poor dog.

Happy Easter 2014!

Easter started early with sunrise service, and Cooper was very excited to check out what the Easter Bunny had brought. He was thrilled about the sand toys and cannot wait for our beach trip...in August.

We headed to church and had breakfast after. Cooper is usually a big pancake eater, but he was too excited about hunting Easter eggs to eat.

Cooper picked up a few eggs and then wanted to go play. After church, I convinced both kids to pose for a few pictures.

Once that was done, we headed to the back to see what the Easter Bunny had hidden. Cooper wanted to check it out before church, but it was still dark. Thankfully, he was patient enough to wait for sunlight.

After a nap, we headed over to spend the afternoon with family.

We gathered all of the kids for a photo while the Easter Eggs were being hidden - and then we turned them loose!

Cooper ran from one end of the yard to another.

Once the eggs were all gathered, we grabbed a late lunch before heading back to Houston.

50 Weeks Old

The past few weeks, Caitlin and I have skipped t-ball practice. She's just too busy to sit and watch Cooper! There is no such thing as the word still in her vocabulary.

The weekend before this, Jason rode the MS-150 again. Cooper and I went to Austin to pick Jason up & Caitlin stayed with Aunt Sassy. The weather forecast was predicting rain, but that changed the day before the race. I wanted to take Caitlin, but asking her to ride in the car for an hour to Austin, sit in a stroller for a few hours and then ride the 3 hours back home would have been too much. For me.

She was thrilled to see Jason that Sunday when we picked her up from Lindsey! The following week was a bit crazy and Jason picked her up from school a few times, getting more of the excited squeals.

49 Weeks Old

I can't believe Caitlin is almost 1. The past few weeks have flown by and she's moving around like crazy. She's very quick crawling and getting into trouble. Her favorite spot is the stairs. We installed the baby gate, but it starts on the third step. She will crawl to the stairs, go up to the second step and then look around for one of us to tell her to get down.

Usually, this is stopped by Cooper going and picking her up. Which then causes her to scream, arch her back and go all limp noodle on him.

I'm pretty sure she will be glad when the photo taking is over. We cannot get her to be still and she ends up just getting mad.

Cooper's First T-Ball Game

Go Diamondbacks!! I won't lie, I was a little disappointed that THIS was the team we were assigned. Snakes? Really? But it was equally disappointing for Kelly & Kyle, as they had to dress Eileen in maroon - a color I'm sure they thought their daughter would never wear.

That said, Cooper is thrilled to be a part of the Arizona Diamondback organization this year. We had our first game earlier this month, and I'm not sure who was more excited - Jason or Cooper.

The kids arrived a bit early to warm up & have a team meeting. They also ran around chasing each other and watching planes fly overhead.

Our team batted first this game. I really like the YMCA for this age since every kid had the chance to bat.

Cooper played 3rd base for his first game. Watching our team on the field was hilarious. Every kid would run toward the ball, no matter where it went. I told Kelly that it was like watching an Easter Egg Hunt.

The kids all had a great time playing & we learned a lot about how to be more organized at the next game. Cooper has talked non-stop about his next game and how he'll play on the other side of the field. Hopefully 1st base sees a bit more action than 3rd. :-)

48 Weeks Old

Ever since Kelly gave back some of Cooper's 12 month pjs, I've been dying to put Caitlin in them for her weekly photo. I think it is adorable, but also it drives my sister crazy to see her wearing "boy" pajamas and that cracks me up.

Taking her photo is almost impossible. She does not want to lay still and is usually screaming because she just wants to get up and chase her brother.

And this is what happened when I tried to get her to come back & get on the blanket.
