52 Weeks Old

I am so glad Caitlin happened to be in a good mood for her last weekly photo!

I'm sad that we're done taking these, but part of me is a little relived. Nights are just insane and taking the time to snap the photos was getting harder and harder.

Plus, Caitlin is not a fan of being tied down.

51 Weeks Old

This week was spent trying to get ready for Caitlin's first birthday party. Most nights were busy and we, again, ended up moving picture day to Wednesday. Caitlin still doesn't like the whole lying down & being still part.

We've finally had some warmer weather and have been able to break out the "warm jammies."  Cooper confuses this & thinks warm jammies are for warm nights and cold jammies are for winter nights.
Libie was spending the night...and stayed for a few days. Caitlin wasn't so sure about her to begin with, but is now a big fan. Poor dog.

50 Weeks Old

The past few weeks, Caitlin and I have skipped t-ball practice. She's just too busy to sit and watch Cooper! There is no such thing as the word still in her vocabulary.

The weekend before this, Jason rode the MS-150 again. Cooper and I went to Austin to pick Jason up & Caitlin stayed with Aunt Sassy. The weather forecast was predicting rain, but that changed the day before the race. I wanted to take Caitlin, but asking her to ride in the car for an hour to Austin, sit in a stroller for a few hours and then ride the 3 hours back home would have been too much. For me.

She was thrilled to see Jason that Sunday when we picked her up from Lindsey! The following week was a bit crazy and Jason picked her up from school a few times, getting more of the excited squeals.

49 Weeks Old

I can't believe Caitlin is almost 1. The past few weeks have flown by and she's moving around like crazy. She's very quick crawling and getting into trouble. Her favorite spot is the stairs. We installed the baby gate, but it starts on the third step. She will crawl to the stairs, go up to the second step and then look around for one of us to tell her to get down.

Usually, this is stopped by Cooper going and picking her up. Which then causes her to scream, arch her back and go all limp noodle on him.

I'm pretty sure she will be glad when the photo taking is over. We cannot get her to be still and she ends up just getting mad.

48 Weeks Old

Ever since Kelly gave back some of Cooper's 12 month pjs, I've been dying to put Caitlin in them for her weekly photo. I think it is adorable, but also it drives my sister crazy to see her wearing "boy" pajamas and that cracks me up.

Taking her photo is almost impossible. She does not want to lay still and is usually screaming because she just wants to get up and chase her brother.

And this is what happened when I tried to get her to come back & get on the blanket.

47 Weeks Old

The weekend before this, Jason & I went to New Orleans for my sister's 30th Birthday. Caitlin & Cooper spent the weekend with Nana and Caitlin was very sad to see her leave. Cooper had his last swim lesson this same day, making our future Tuesdays just a little easier. It has been rough getting him to swim, home for a quick snack and then to t-ball. T-ball is not Caitlin's favorite activity either. She doesn't want to sit in the stroller at all. I can't hold her the entire time, so this week I tried taking a blanket to sit on. That lasted longer than the stroller, but we still didn't make the total 45 minutes without getting angry.

She's demanding.

She also finally outgrew the 9 month pjs. They were just too short in the length. I then discovered that we have very few 12 month pjs! Thankfully, Evan has outgrown Cooper's old pajamas in that size and Kelly gave them back. I get the biggest kick out of seeing Caitlin in Cooper's pajamas.

((these were not his. :-) ))

46 Weeks Old

Time is flying by these days. With t-ball, swim and a birthday party around the corner, I can't seem to keep up. I have no idea what we do each week, but boy are we busy!

Cooper hasn't been in a photo in a while. I'm pretty sure it is a result of an early bedtime, but he also seems to be less interested. And it may have something to do with the interest level of Caitlin - she's still for maybe 3.2 seconds and then she's moving.

45 Weeks Old

Last week, Caitlin's teacher sent home the menu from school and asked me to circle what she can have. They want to start giving her table food in preparation of her moving to the next room.

I'm in denial. She's just so TINY. I can't believe she will be 1 next month, because she is way too small to be that old yet. I feel like she will be the smallest person in the room. However, I think she can probably hold her own. At least vocally.

They started giving her breakfast & lunch, plus a snack and she seems to be really happy. I am glad that I no longer have to try & remember to pack baby food on Monday AND I don't have to make any again! We're going to clean out the freezer, but that will be it. She can eat table food at home as well.

She was not having it last week when it came to taking pictures. I thought about trying again, but I also think it is hilarious to snap photos of screaming children. We tried to get a smile out of her, but she wanted nothing to do with laying on the floor.

Even CooperClark Kent, Superman couldn't help.

44 Weeks Old

I tried taking Caitlin's picture one evening alone and this is how it went.

She would roll over before I managed to get the camera up to my eye...
I rolled her back over several times. And finally gave up. She was obviously done.
A few nights later, I tried again with Jason's help.

It was much of the same. Lay down. Roll over. Roll back over. Scream. Rinse. Repeat.

43 Weeks Old

Some days, I think she just likes to hear herself scream.

This look is full of mischief.

42 Weeks Old

I finally snapped Caitlin's photo for this week on Friday. It was rough week. Tuesday, we quickly ate dinner and headed to Kohl's to look at new dishes. I'm on the fence and we left empty handed.

Caitlin wasn't feeling great, but she seemed ok. Shortly after I sat down to nurse her, she threw up. All over me & the sofa. I yelled for Jason, he grabbed her and tossed me a towel and I ran to the bathroom for wet rags. I quickly cleaned up the sofa while he stripped Caitlin for a bath. She threw up again on him. We got her cleaned up, I jumped in the shower (since some of the vomit was in my hair) and he sat on the sofa holding Caitlin. We knew it was coming & Jason caught the next wave in his hands. At this point, she didn't look too hot. I tried giving her water, I tried nursing a bit, only to end up with more vomit in my lap. I finally got her to drink some water and we decided to let her sleep in our bed. Shortly after we settled down, she threw up again. That would be third load of laundry for the night.

We finally got her settled down and made it through the night. The next morning, she woke up in a good mood and ate well. I decided to send her to daycare...only to get a call later that afternoon that she'd been throwing up again. We brought her home, she spent Thursday with Jason and seemed to be on the mend. Until Friday, when I pulled her out of her crib covered in vomit again. Guess who stayed home again on Friday?

Over the weekend she really started to feel better. Sunday she ate like she'd been starved for days, which she had. I found out Thursday that there was a bug going around her class and she was one of 5 kids out. Fun times.

Also, there are only 10 weeks until she is one. The part of me that is tired of pumping is excited. The rest of me...not so much.

41 Weeks Old

Swimming lessons moved from Monday to Tuesday, and that has really made taking Caitlin's picture hard. We get home later, the kids have to have baths (that pool water is funky) and by the time I grab the camera, everyone is grumpy and ready for bed.

I picked up these pajamas on sale & knew they'd be perfect for the week of Valentine's Day. I also have a weakness for pjs, so...I couldn't resist.

40 Weeks Old

Caitlin has been out as long as she was in. I struggle with what felt longer - the time I was pregnant or the time since she was born. Probably the pregnant part, though that seemed to fly by.

Speaking of flying by, February is almost over and I'm not sure what we've done. Caitlin had her 9 month appointment this same day. It shocks me almost every day how she is so tiny compared to Cooper. I won't lie, I was not expecting that! I really thought she would be about the same size, or maybe a bit smaller. Cooper weighed almost 23 pounds at this age and Caitlin is just under 19 pounds. I can still carry her in the car seat and Cooper had outgrown it well before this age. We've put her rear facing in the convertible seats before, but she just looks so tiny there!

We rock our Christmas jammies as long as they fit. Also, Cooper loves to wear mis-matched pajamas on a daily basis. These matched, but usually it drives my type A self insane when he's wearing construction truck pants and a Star Wars shirt.
